A Saturday Morning Trip to Donut Vault

Does this look like the face of one happy girl who just ate a donut or what? One of my absolutely favorite little spots in the city is Donut Vault located right behind the Merchandise Mart. The first time I went was actually when my mom and I attended the One of a Kind Show last fall. We were one of the first people in line freezing our butts off in the cold just to get a tasty donuts. Boy was it worth it!

Recently, Sarah and I took a morning trip to grab coffee and donuts before an afternoon of catching up post-holiday and doing some blog work. We decided a little outfit shoot was totally necessary, too :) The weather has been so darn cold that I haven't had the chance to wear my wool coat very much. I've been living in my down coat all bundled up! So, I knew when the weather said it was going to be a whopping 40 degrees, that I was going to do another fun post for you guys styling this sucker.

I'm not sure what happened with the focus on this photo, but I loved the shoes too much not to share. How cool are the gold heels? I was looking for sometime for a pair of black booties and couldn't pass up this pair when I saw them. I'm still getting used to figuring out how to wear them with regular denim, but for the time being, I love them with my black jeans. Also, can I just point out that people always think they can't mix black, brown/tan and gray... well, guess who just did? This girl! You can totally do it and still look fab.
