It's official.. I'd die to move to the west coast right about now. Well, first, I guess I should apologize for my disappearance over the last two weeks! I really have no explanation other than getting ready for my trip to LA was busy and then getting back into the swing of this at work was even crazier! But, enough with the sad thoughts and more about the beautiful Los Angeles 😍
As you might have seen from my mass amounts of Instagram stories last week (sorry, not sorry!), I actually went out that way to be at the live filming of The Bachelor, After the Final Rose. To say it was a dream is an understatement - but I figured I'd do a blog post on that soon, so I'll keep it short now! Similar to my last travel post, I'm sharing some of my favorite places to snooze, sip and see while out west for a quick trip.
SNOOZE
First up: where to get some shut eye. We kind of booked our trip backwards in the sense that we knew we needed a flight to LA and beyond that had no true idea of where filming would take place. So, we tried to stay somewhat close to the airport but also close to Burbank/Glendale area where TV shows are typically filmed.
That's where my friends at Preferred Hotels & Resorts and The Orlando Hotel came in. This was a great location right in Beverly Grove. We couldn't have asked for a nicer spot that is centrally located to a variety of shopping and dining. I'm talking Magnolia Bakery across the street, The Grove right down the block, Alfred's Coffee a 15 min walk away and Kreation Juice bar right around the corner. But, more on that in the Sip and See sections :)
What was actually super exciting upon our check in was that we got upgraded. Hello Queen size bed and more bathroom space! All members of Preferred Hotels & Resorts' iPrefer program get fun perks like this. So if you're a frequent traveler, it doesn't hurt to join in time for your next trip! (Don't forget, this gives you access to hotels in over seven regions)
Preferred Hotels actually has about nine other properties in the LA area including the Huntley Santa Monica Beach, the Mosaic Hotel Beverly Hills, Montage Beverly Hills, AKA Beverly Hills, the BLVD Hotel & Suites and the Hollywood Roosevelt.
In full transparency, I was graciously welcomed as a guest to The Orlando Hotel, but I promise you everything you read is my opinion. I would never post my experience without sharing my honest thoughts :)
SIP
When we weren't at the filming, you would have found us at Alfred's Coffee off Melrose. We ended up driving (praise to having a rental car), but it was definitely nice enough to walk about 15 min if we wanted. The best part? We ran into Hailey Baldwin and Kevin Connolly. You might recognize Hailey as she runs with the Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid crew and Kevin, well he's my favorite (Connor Barry) in He's Just Not That In to You.The Orlando Hotel is right off of 3rd street which is prime location for all kinds of treats and drinks. Magnolia Bakery is across the street, Joan's on 3rd down the block and Kreation Cafe near by. Those are just three yummy spots, but there is so much more to explore depending on what you're looking for. We also stopped at by Chloe, one of my favorite vegan spots to visit when in NYC. I was craving the fries!
SEE
Now, where to go! As mentioned, we were short on time, but had so many things we wish we could have seen. The West Hollywood area is the perfect place to start the trip (especially if staying at The Orlando Hotel). For those interested in sigh seeing I highly recommend a trip to Griffith Observatory. I visited on my last trip to LA and had so much fun. The views are gorgeous. The LA County Museum of Art is close, too, and a crowd favorite. I've never been, but I'm definitely wanting to hit this spot next time I return. Of course, you can also visit the iconic Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive for a little window shipping. Oh, and for any of my entertainment news fans, The Grove is super close and Extra with Mario Lopez used to be shot here! But don't worry - there still have a ton of other amazing stores and frequently host events/pop-up shops with celebrities.
I'm hoping to make it back to LA again soon! Would love to hear your favorite spots in town :)
XO
