So, I know it's only Wednesday, but what does everyone have planned for the weekend? How about a last minute girls night in the city? A few weekends ago, I had the chance to go along with two of my best blogging pals, Kaleigh from Lux & Concord and Heidi from Wishes & Reality (plus a few other friends) to take a trip to the AC Hotel Chicago for a girls night in!
The AC Hotel Chicago just opened up this summer in the heart of River North, right off the Magnificent Mile. Filled with European, sleek and minimalistic decor, it was the perfect getaway for a Friday evening downtown. We started the night in their 4th floor lounge (open to the public!) with a cocktail in hand and just kicked back and relaxed after a long work week.
Not long after we sipped down our drinks, we headed to our room to officially start our slumber party. Thanks to BomboBar/Bar Siena, we devoured the most delicious Bombolinis and gelato. If you haven't visited them yet, get your butt over to the West Loop stat! Of course, no slumber party goes on without getting a few photos jumping on the bed, am I right?
After chatting it up and eating our delicious desserts, we played with different beauty products, watched a movie and snuggled up in our beds. The best part - we had 3 connecting rooms which was great for hanging out during the night but heading our separate ways when we wanted to hit the hay. It was so fun to feel like we were out of town for the night, when really we were just a short El ride away from our apartments!
As you can tell, the bed was SUPER comfortable. It was actually a pretty rainy day in the city that morning, so staying in bed all day was very tempting. But, we got up and running to head down to the AC Kitchen for a delicious European breakfast and coffee... lots of coffee.
If you couldn't tell, I'm totally one of those people who doesn't like their food to touch haha! However, this quiche was delicious. Don't worry, I ate more than this, friends! They had a variety of meats and cheeses, egg dishes, croissants, a cereal bar, yogurt and fresh fruit, espresso station and a few different juices and teas to choose from.
I took some coffee back to my room to snuggle back up in bed for a little bit before checking out for the afternoon. I don't know about you, but I think we all deserve a few girls night slumber parties in place of a night out on the town. You know who to call next time you're looking for a fun girls night in... this girl!
Have you been any of the AC Hotels before? I want to hear all about it!
XO
